What To Watch This Week Of February On Disney+ Hotstar, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video To Keep Your Single Self Busy

An anonymous person once said, “Here’s to strong women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them.” This is one of my favourite quotes and for good reason. Due to being a feminist, I have always felt that we lack good women-centric content in mainstream media (yeah, hot take, I know). However, due to OTT platforms, creators have more freedom than ever to present their stories the way they want to which is slowly but surely giving rise to good and well written women-centric stories. The releases lined up for this week are a good example of this. With shows like A Thursday, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Bestseller, Mithya, Petite Maman etc all up for release, this week is going to be all about powerful female characters which I am so excited for. So here is everything you need to watch on beloved OTT platforms this week,

A Thursday – Disney+ Hotstar

A Thursday is a movie starring Yami Gautam Dhar, Atul Kulkarni and Neha Dhupia. The story revolves around Naina Jaiswal who has taken 16 children hostage and has demands that need to be fulfilled. How far will Naina’s madness take her will only be revealed on February 17 on Disney+ Hotstar.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel – Amazon Prime Video

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is coming out with its 4th season and to say that I am enthusiastic is an understatement. The trailer for this season showed the ever-hilarious dynamic between Midge and Susie along with Midge on a complete power trip. Watch Midge’s journey on  Amazon Prime Video from February 18.

Uncharted – Theatres

The story of Uncharted revolves around the street-smart Nathan Drake (played by Tom Holland) who gets hired by treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan (played by Mark Wahlberg). It begins as heist job that turns into a race for who gets to the treasure first. However, will Nathan and Victor be able to get along enough to get to the treasure on time? Find out on February 18, in theatres near you.

Bestseller – Amazon Prime Video

Bestseller is a movie featuring a brilliant cast like Mithun Chakraborty, Shruti Haasan, Arjan Bajwa, Gauahar Khan, Sonalee Kulkarni and Satyajeet Dubey. Other than Mithun Da’s return to acting, I am also looking forward to Shruti Haasan’s riveting performance if the trailer is anything to go by. Bestseller is all set to be released on February 18 on Amazon Prime Video.

Hridayam – Disney+ Hotstar

Hridayam is a Malayali movie starring Pranav Mohanlal, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Darshana Rajendran. The story documents campus life and young love in all its wholesomeness and purity. Definitely something I plan to watch and relive the magic of my college days on February 18 on Disney+ Hotstar.

Severance – Apple TV+

Severance is one of the releases this week I am most excited for owing to its star cast of brilliant actors such as Adam Scott, Patricia Arquette, John Turturro, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Dichen Lachman, Jen Tullock, Tramell Tillman, Michael Chernus and Christopher Walken. The thriller series is all set to be released on February 18 on Apple TV+.

Petite Maman – MUBI India

Okay I know I have said this about almost every release on this list but this one I am looking forward to. Petite Maman is a French drama film by the director Céline Sciamma and stars Joséphine Sanz, Gabrielle Sanz and Nina Meurisse. The story revolves around a young girl who seemingly meets and bonds with her mother as a little girl and I cannot wait to watch this one on February 18 on MUBI India.

Space Force – Netflix

If I have to introduce Space Force to you, which rock have you been living under? This Steve Carell comedy-drama series is about to peak and reach new heights with the season 2 release on Netflix on February 18.

Mithya – Zee5

Mithya is a Zee5 series featuring Huma Qureshi, Avantika Dassani, Parambrata Chatterjee, Samir Soni and Rajit Kapoor. The plot revolves around a scandal of cheating and deception. However, there is more than what meets the eye. Find out on Zee5 on February 18.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre – Netflix

Based on the 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre, this Netflix version is a retelling of the story by Fede Álvarez and Rodo Sayagues. Texas Chainsaw Massacre shows the return of Leatherface who terrifies a group of youngins because of an unlucky accident.

I might not have had a Valentine this week but that doesn’t mean I am not booked. With all the shows and movies these OTT platforms are throwing at us, there is no excuse to spend time moping around when you could be cosying up and watching these releases!
