TMF: “Spoiled Boys Remain Unhappy In Marriages As Women Are Changing,” Says Chitrangada Singh!

Most mothers raise their sons and daughters differently in Indian society, and this is no surprise. The patriarchal society portrayed boys to be more valuable than daughters because the latter is paraya dhan, and it is the bete who are going to the parents’ support system in old age. So, as per this notion, boys tend to get all the special treatment like getting food served on plates, not being expected to help in the kitchen, etc. In the latest episode of The Male Feminist, Chitrangada Singh shares how even in her family, some of her relatives place their sons on pedestals. She also added that this behaviour makes the boy expect the same kind of pampering and coddling from their life partners!

In a conversation with The Male Feminist AKA Siddhaarth Aalambayan, Chitrangada Singh said that she did not ever feel that her parents raised her and her brother differently. But she feels in general, mothers should distribute domestic work equally among sons and daughters. Agreeing with Siddhaarth on the ‘raja beta syndrome’, Chitrangada said that she has seen this happen with her cousins as well.

Elaborating more, the Gaslight actress reveals that the male cousins are treated like they can never do anything wrong. She also did not hesitate to say that it is her mama’s sons who behave this way, and they are the ones who feel quite rightful! She also went on to say that mothers spoil the boys, and the boys only look for girls who will treat them the same way their moms did!

Chitrangada Singh also went on to say that it is these boys who are unhappy in their marriages because women, today, do not want to do all that. She added that she tells her son that he will thank her when he gets married because he has her as a mother!

This is such an important thing that Chitrangada has talked about. The older generation cared way more about their sons than their daughters, and we’re glad that notion is changing today!
