The Elephant Whisperers has been widely appreciated globally for bagging an Oscar at the 95th Academy Awards in the Best Documentary Short Film category. People and critics are hailing Kartiki Gonsalves, the director of the film, and producer Guneet Monga for bringing the story of Bomman and Bellie, the indigenous couple, on which the documentary is based. Bellie and Bomman were not seen anywhere during the Oscars ceremony which did not sit well with a lot of Internet users. But Kartiki Gonsalves recently took to her Instagram handle to share a picture of this couple holding the Oscars trophy!

Taking to her Instagram handle, Kartiki Gonsalves shared the picture of Bellie and Bomman holding the Oscars trophy. The couple was smiling widely for the camera and was clearly highly ecstatic about the win. In the picture, it was evident that the couple took pride in their simplicity. In the caption of the post, Kartiki wrote that it has been four months since she has stayed away from the couple and she feels she is at home after meeting them!

The Elephant Whisperers is the real-life story of Bellie and Bomman who raised an orphan elephant. They gave it shelter and also nursed it, and along this journey, their bond grew strong. The film is all about how Raghu, the elephant, grows close to this couple and also other members of the village. The film also highlighted how the villagers live in harmony with nature and shed light on the importance of sustainable living!
