Star World To Be Discontinued. 5 Iconic Shows, Like ‘Koffee With Karan’, That The Channel Was Home To!
We will miss watching these shows on Star World.
Television has its own charm, you know? And yes, I use present tense while talking about television because I refuse to believe that TV will die after the surge in OTT. Certain channels were a huge part of our growing-up years and have had a huge impact on pop culture as well. Star World was one such where we, Indian audiences, got to watch a lot of foreign shows or shows that tipped slightly on the scandalous side of the scale! Now, Star World is going to be shut down by Disney Star, and this makes me remind of some of the coolest shows my generation was first introduced to through the channel! So, take a trip down memory lane with me to reminisce about those shows!
Koffee With Karan
The popular talk show, which is hosted by Karan Johar, was first aired on Star World. Having Bollywood actors spilling gossip about their and their contemporary’s lives on the koffee kouch was kaafi scandalous! Now that KWK is airing on Disney Plus, we will miss catching glimpses of the show on the channel.

Priyanka Chopra’s Hollywood debut had Indian audiences looking forward to it. She played an FBI agent who becomes a prime suspect in a terrorist attack. The show is now available for streaming on Hulu.

Before the medical drama shifted to Zee Cafe, the first six seasons of Grey’s Anatomy aired on Star World. Oh, to see Meredith Grey and Derek Shepheard on my TV screen made my heart skip a beat!

Chernobyl, a show about the nuclear disaster in the Soviet Union that had devastating aftereffects, was first aired on Star World. This show showed how it all started and what its dire consequences were. Chernobyl is now available for streaming on Disney Plus Hostar.
