10 Songs From Indian Web Series That Will Give Bollywood Music A Run For Its Money
Thanks to OTT platforms, we are never short of mind-blowing and remarkable content. From intriguing plots to stellar casts, Indian web series are making a home in our hearts and we’re most definitely not complaining. In fact, one of the main elements of these web series that make them gripping is the music. Meaningful lyrics, magical compositions, and soul-soothing vocals- they have it all. Seriously Bollywood music can learn a thing or two from them.
Still doubtful? Well, here are 10 songs from the Indian web series that need to be on your playlist:

1. Aise Kyun (Ghazal Version) from Mismatched S2

Mismatched is a cult favourite and a lot of credit for that goes to Rohit Saraf and Prajakta Koli. But in season 2, the show stealer was the song ‘Aise Kyun (Ghazal Version)’. Rekha Bhardwaj and Anurag Saikia singing the beautiful lyrics written by Raj Shekar to Anurag Saikia’s music is a vibe that cannot be explained in words.

2. Baarish from Baarish

If you’re someone who looks at rain and things about love, then this song from Alt Balaji’s Baarish is for you. Sung by K.C. Loy and Nupur Pant, this song is what love is made of. PS The cute romance between Asha Negi and Sharman Joshi is just the icing on the cake.

3. Preet from Baarish

‘Preet’ from Alt Balaji’s Baarish is a song that speaks volumes about how situations change but the “preet” (love) doesn’t change – in fact, it becomes even more strong with every challenge you face. This feel-good song comes to life with Ashim Kemson’s vocals.

4. Pause from Little Things

Little Things has to be one of my favourite web series for two reasons – one, the realistic portrayal of relationships is refreshing and relatable, and two, the music. From all the songs in the series, if there is one song that feels like a warm hug that says ‘everything is going to be okay’, then it is ‘Pause’ sung by Prateek Kuhad. The music composition along with beautiful cinematography perfectly shows the complications of modern relationships.

5. Yaara Teri Yaari from Four More Shots Please!

Looking for a song that celebrates friendships? Well, ‘Yaara Teri Yaar’ from Four More Shots Please! is what you’re looking for. Sung by Darshan Raval this song narrates the story of strangers that turned out to be friends who eventually became family.

6. Ae Re Sakhi from Made In Heaven

‘Ae Re Sakhi’ is the song that is featured during the couple’s sangeet function on Made In Heaven. This masterpiece of the song is created by M. S. Nizami Brothers. And for this, we have to thank the show’s director Alankrita
Shrivastava that heard the duo perform at the Nizamuddin Dargah in Delhi.

7. Shaamein from Broken But Beautiful

What happens when both Amaal and Armaan Malik come together? Well, you get a mesmerizing song that will transport you to another world. ‘Shaamein’ from Broken But Beautiful is a song that will make you fall in love all over again. This song deserves a spot in your playlist.

8. Virah from Bandish Bandits

‘Virah’ from Bandish Bandits perfectly depicts the feeling of yearning for a separated lover. This song is a beautiful blend of classical music and contemporary pop that is seamlessly woven into a musical tale by Shankar Mahadevan’s vocals.

9. Dhuan Dhuan from Sacred Games

Mamta Singh and Pallavi Roy’s soothing vocals in ‘Dhuan Dhuan’ from Sacred Games will hit you with a sense of calmness that can get you very comfortable with whatever is going on in your life. The brilliant lyrics along with the tranquil music are what you will go back to again and again.

10. Yeh Kya Hua Humein from Permanent Roommates

‘Yeh Kya Hua Humein’ is by far one of the cosiest and most comfortable songs I have heard. The meaningful lyrics and hard-hitting musical tones will make you want to hear this on a loop. And for that, you even have to thank Vaibhav Bundhoo who sang this so mesmerizingly.
