Years ago, Advocate Poonam Chand Solanki aka PC Solanki took the world by storm after successfully prosecuting self-styled godman Asaram Bapu for the rape of a minor girl under the POCSO Act. The man stood strong in the face of fear and fought the stalwarts of the legal field like Ram Jethmalani in a 5 year-long case. And now, Manoj Bajpayee is all set to bring us the story of Advocate PC Solanki in the form of a film. Directed by Apoorv Singh Karki and produced by Bhanushali Studios Lt., Zee Studios and Suparn S Varma, the film Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai. Starring Manoj Bajpayee as Advocate PC Solanki, this film is scheduled to release on the OTT platform Zee5 on May 23.

The trailer opens with Manoj Bajpyee’s character, Advocate PC Solanki, talking about how he has witnessed many cases but this one is different. And enters 16-year-old Nu, the girl who accuses a self-styled godman of sexual harassment. The trailer then introduces the godman as he asks what will really even happen if he goes to jail once while speaking to his disciples. And then begins the battle between power and willpower as PC Solanki bravely fights Nu’s case in the courtroom drama to ensure justice is served and the self-styled godman is punished. Manoj Bajpayee looks sincere in his portrayal of the lawyer who fought the biggest case of his life with courage despite receiving death threats. Several scenes also showcase the witnesses of the case being attacked.

Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai is based on a true event i.e., the Asaram Bapu rape case. The self-styled godman was accused of rape by a minor girl in 2013. After the FIR was filed and the court case began, several witnesses were attacked and killed between 2014 and 2015. It took immense courage and bravery from Advocate PC Solanki to stand his ground and seek justice for a minor victim of rape. And Manoj Bajpayee seems to have played the character with much conviction.

Speaking to the media, Manoj Bajpayee revealed that it was an incredible experience to play the role of Advocate PC Solanki. He called the lawyer’s story the inspiring story of an ordinary man who fought an extraordinary battle and went against all odds for the sake of truth and justice. He further added that he hopes that the trailer compels people to watch the story of PC Solanki and everything that it took for him to ensure justice is served.
