‘YLPH:’ Manoj Bajpayee Has This Advice For Aspiring Actors And It’s Gold!’

In the latest episode of Hauterrfly’s Yeh Ladki Pagal Hai, actor Manoj Bajpayee joins host–Pavni Mehrotra for a fun conversation on films, OTT, and his upcoming projects. Speaking about the changing dynamics of stardom, the actor interestingly pointed out the importance of getting trained first. When asked about the advice he would like to extend to aspiring actors, Bajpayee mentioned–”Do theatre for at least two to three years. Instead of going for a monthly workshop, you should join the theatre and work on your craft.”

He also advised aspiring actors who are aged 18 or 19, and said how they should give two to three years to theatre, be a part of a group, and dedicate their time there, which will strengthen their craft and train them for films. Bajpayee said, “don’t join the industry too early, for the sake of fame. Don’t hurry up to just face the camera. First, you must learn the skill and practice well, then only you can expect a long journey here.”

Besides that, the actor also shared his viewpoint on the current status of stardom, and said–”there are so many stars today.” While sharing a few personal instances, the actor mentioned how he has seen teenagers today, running behind a star, just for a photograph. Later he realised that the star was a TikTok star. Adding to this, he also recollected this one incident and mentioned–”So, I was at the Cannes Film Festival, and I remember there was this great buzz and madness near the red carpet. The lanes were blocked with teenagers, waiting for just a glimpse of that star who came out and sat in his car. And later I found out the star was no actor but a famous Snapchat star.”

Well, we definitely agree with Manoj Bajpayee. The idea of becoming a star seems like this easy formula that every popular personality has mastered. Bollywood is no more a parameter to measure someone’s success. Thank social media platforms or blame them, now every person with a great number of followers is a star.
