“My Marriage Is More Than Religion,” Manoj Bajpayee On His Inter-Caste Marriage With Shabana

A very strong and beautiful example of this was set by actor Manoj Bajpayee. Since his is an inter-caste marriage, the actor recently opened up about his thoughts on the same in a recent interview, and any kind of opposition faced for it. Manoj Bajpayee sternly kept forth his opinions on the same.

Manoj Bajpayee is married to Shabana, who is a Muslim woman. In the interview, the actor asked about his inter-caste marriage, to which he responded by saying that his marriage is more about shared values than religion. Adding to this, the Family Man actor also said that his wife is a proud Muslim and he is a proud Hindi.

In the interview with Barkha Dutt, Manoj Bajpayee also said that nobody around him had the “Courage” to speak ill about his marriage, especially around the topic of religion. The actress even expressed that he is very outright with his opinions and is harsh when it comes to arguing about them. The Gulmohar actor also revealed that his family never opposed his marriage and was very accepting of it.

In the interview, The Gangs Of Wasseypur actor also said that he does not believe in telling his children about their religion. He would rather let them discover and explore their own religion. He even shared an incident about his daughter, when she asked her mother about religion. To this Manoj Bajpayee had asked her about which religion she would choose, and his daughter instantly replied “Buddhism”. The actor stated his marriage had always been about values rather than religion.
