I feel like one of the singers that has released no new music in almost a decade and yet remained relevant is Rihanna. And is that even surprising? Not only did those of us growing up in the early 2000s live on her music but also because of how utterly iconic Fenty beauty is and the success it has gotten over the years. However, we Rihanna lovers are now at luck as she has announced that she will be performing at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2023. No, I have zero chill about this!

The NFL, along with Jay-Roc Z’s Nation and Apple Music, announced Sunday that the singer, who opted not to participate in the 2019 Super Bowl halftime show in support of Colin Kaepernick, will be the 2023 Super Bowl’s headlining act. Rihanna shared an Instagram photo of an arm outstretched, carrying an NFL football. The Super Bowl will be held on February 12 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Just like me the citizens of the internet, more accurately, Twitter cannot stop talking about the return of our queen. The upcoming halftime show will be supported by Apple Music instead of Pepsi, which has sponsored it for years. The 2023 Super Bowl could not arrive sooner, in my opinion. After the legendary halftime performances we had back in 2020 by Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, I have always looked forward to them and now that Rihanna is going to be on stage after so long, I cannot wait to relive my teen years with her music.
