‘Besharam Rang’ Row: “Will Burn SRK Alive”, Threatens Ayodhya Seer

The controversy that the ‘Besharam Rang’ song from Pathaan has landed into does not seem to be dying down. Saffron outfits from all over the country have united in demanding a boycott of the film because Deepika Padukone is wearing a saffron bikini in the song and that has hurt the religious sentiments of people. It was Madhya Pradesh’s Home Minister and speaker who were first offended by Deepika’s outfit in the song and now, it seems that seers from Ayodhya are also angry by the colour choice of the actress’ bikini. Recently, one of the saints said that he will even go to the degree of ‘burning’ Shah Rukh Khan alive if it comes to that.

As per reports, it was Mahant Paramhans Acharya of Tapasvi Chhavni who made this insensitive statement for SRK. He said that people from the Sanatan Dharma are protesting against the film continuously. He further went on to say that they have burnt Shah Rukh Khan’s poster today and in the future, if he ever gets to meet the actor, he will burn him alive. He also threatened those who will go to watch the film by saying that he set them on fire as well.

Mahant Paramhans Acharya is not the first saint to have joined in the protests against Pathaan. Mahant Raju Das, the priest of Hanuman Garhi also demanded a boycott of the film.

Hopping on the bandwagon to boycott a film is one thing but openly threatening to burn a man alive is just horrible. How is no action against this man is something I do not understand.

Earlier, MP’s Assembly Speaker Girish Gautam said that Shah Rukh Khan should upload a picture of him watching Pathaan with his daughter Suhana. He implied that if the actor thinks the movie is not offensive, he should watch it with his daughter. Former Union Minister Suresh Pachouri went on to say that the issue is not over the movie but over the clothes in the song.
