“Problem With Hijab, Bikini”: Nusrat Jahan On ‘Besharam Rang’ Criticism

Among many, you might be aware that Deepika Padukone’s bikinis in the song ‘Besharam Rang’ from Pathaan are the talk of the town. Especially, the “Saffron” bikini. It sparked protests and some ministers also asked for a ban on the movie. Well, many well-known faces came out in support of the actress as well, and the very recent one was TMC leader, Nusrat Jahan.

During an interview, TMC minister and actress, Nusrat Jahan spoke her thoughts on Deepika Padukone’s ‘Besharam Rang’ controversy. She gave a hard-hitting statement on it and said the people criticising Deepika have a problem with everything. They cannot tolerate women in Hijab or a woman in bikinis. She also blamed the ruling government for trying to control the women of today, by telling them what they should wear, eat, and how they should talk. Nusrat Jahan expressed her fears about where is the county heading with all this, as per the news.

A few days back even, Prakash Raj made a tweet on this, and called such people “Besharam Bigots.” But on the other hand, the intolerance for the song continues to keep coming from various ministers. Narottam Mishra, the Madhya Pradesh Home Minister critic the song and called for a ban on the film, after which BJP’s Ram Charan also joined the list. In fact, he blamed the song for intentionally hurting Hindu sentiments.
