Alexa Demie, Florence Pugh, Julia Garner In The Race To Play Madonna In The Pop Icon’s Biopic. Some Spicy Deets Inside
Okay guys, the much-awaited Madonna biopic is in the making and let me tell you, it’s all that the internet wishes to know about (including us). Filled with an intense auditioning process, every possible popular face is running the race to play the ‘Material girl’ onscreen and we definitely can’t wait to know who it is. According to the latest reports, casting director Carmen Cuba is on the lookout for the one, who can translate the world of Madonna right on the big screen. And competing for probably the meatiest, and most ambitious roles of their careers, actresses Odessa Young, Florence Pugh, Julia Garner, newbie Emma Laird and our very own Euphoria fame Alexa Demie AKA Maddy are shooting their best shot for the role.

As a part of the search process, the intense 11-hour-a-day long casting regime includes choreography sessions with Madonna’s choreographer and the pop icon herself, who is very much invested in the project. Furthermore, the to-be Madonnas take a seat for gruelling reading sessions with Madonna followed by singing auditions. While the line-up of actresses auditioning for the role keeps adding and altering, earlier reports also suggested the names of other Euphoria stars like Sydney Sweeney and Barbie Ferreira joining the casting room.

As per further reports, the film will revolve around Madonna’s 1990 Blonde Ambition tour and will require the protagonist to be able to pull up her socks to catch up with everything from singing, dancing to portraying the global star’s persona on celluloid. I already feel tired after learning about the process and cannot imagine the regime these actresses are putting themselves through. But I guess it’ll all be worth it, considering the woman herself (Madonna in this case) is not only co-writing the film but also directing the biopic.

Well, the tough fight between Julia Garner and Florence Pugh for the role has left the internet guessing and if you ask me then the Black Widow star would fit the part well(Madonna, you there?). But I guess Alexa Demie too could pull off the role, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the girl moves from Maddy to Madonna instantly.

While weaving a biopic in itself is a task that needs a lot of crucial research work, keeping in mind the right kind of portrayal, Madonna’s detailed interest in the project is a sign that the woman doesn’t want any possible plot holes in the film. Talking about which she also said in an interview with Jimmy Fallon, “The reason I’m doing it is because a bunch of people have tried to write movies about me, but they’re always men,” (that’s right Madonna).

The project will also dig into details about her journey as an artist and a female pop star who carved her place in a man’s world, at that point of time.While the script is yet to get it’s final touch up, the casting has made a buzz and definitely for all the right reasons.
Well, all and all, whoever plays the part will be bang on right (although fingers crossed for Florence), and we can not wait to watch the new ‘Material Girl,’ shine on that screen.
