Jennifer Grey Opens Up About Her Brief Engagement With Johnny Depp In Her Memoir, Says “He Was Crazy Jealous And Paranoid”
Amidst the ongoing Johnny Depp and Amber Heard defamation case, an old flame of the actor has come out with a memoir wherein she spoke about the relationship she shared with him in the past. Yep, I’m talking about none other than the Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey. The actress recently in her memoir reflected back on her brief engagement to Johnny Depp and everything that went wrong between the two. She even claims that he was ‘crazy jealous and paranoid’ when the two were together.
Jennifer Grey in her memoir, Out of the Corner, the actress talks about her relationship with her ex-fiancé Johnny Depp. The two met when the actress’ agent set her up on a blind date with the Pirates of the Caribbean actor back in 1989. And the two hit it off immediately.

Describing her first date with Johnny Depp, Jennifer Grey wrote, “We ate, talked, drank Jack Daniel’s, laughed our asses off, took cigarette breaks midcourse. He was so ridiculously beautiful. And surprisingly open, funny, quirky, and sweet… “
And just like that Johnny Depp proposed to her for marriage within two weeks of meeting each other. Jennifer Grey wrote about how they got a Pekinese-poodle puppy named Lulu who was their practice baby and someone who would keep the actress company when he was out of town.
As per reports, Jennifer Grey further went on to say that Johnny Depp had been commuting every week back and forth from Vancouver and it was around the same time that he had begun getting into trouble more often – “fights in bars, skirmishes with cops.”

In Out of the Corner, Jennifer Grey wrote, “He’d started missing his flights home to LA having overslept or when he did come home, he’d be crazy jealous and paranoid about what I’d been up to while he was gone. I attributed his ill temper and unhappiness to him feeling miserable and powerless to get off 21 Jump Street.”
It was when Johnny Depp left for a meeting and didn’t come back for hours nor contacted her, was when Jennifer Grey broke off her engagement with him. This incident took place right before her 29th birthday.
The memoir is out on Tuesday, May 3.
