Let’s be honest, there are a lot of things to love about House Of The Dragon – from its realistic portrayal of toxic men dealing with rejection or their leads being an ally for the LGBTQ+ community. What am I going on about? *Spoiler Alert* The seventh episode of the prequel series is out and it was one hell of a ride. There was so much happening and fans were loving all of it – especially two moments – one, the steamy sex scene between Rhaenyra Targaryen and Daemon Targaryen, and the other being the moment when the two characters stood together as allies for the LGBTQ+ community. Yep, the House Of The Dragon episode shows Rhaenyra Targaryen and Daemon Targaryen pull off the finest Houdini act wherein they fake her gay husband, Laenor Velaryon’s death to help him run away with his lover Ser Qarl.
Episode 7 of House Of The Dragon is out and the fans are loving every single bit of it – especially when Rhaenyra Targaryen and Daemon Targaryen stood together as allies for the LGBTQ+ community in Westeros. It was the moment when Rhaenyra realises how rotten her household has gotten and to strengthen her allies she needs to ensure the union of fire and blood aka Daemon.
And the way that would be possible is when the two of them tie the knot. So, in episode 7 of House Of The Dragon, Rhaenyra Targaryen proposes that she and Daemon Targaryen marry but for that to happen Laenor Velaryon must die. So, the two of them pull off a Houdini act wherein they fake Laenor’s death with the help of his lover Ser Qarl. While the entire family grieves over his death, Laenor (who is very much alive) and Ser Qarl take the rowboat on the shore to embark on a trip across the Narrow Sea. A place where the two lovers can live together without any interference and judgement.
This very scene in House Of The Dragon had many fans hyping out Rhaenyra Targaryen and Daemon Targaryen for being allies of the LGBTQ+ community. Check out some of the Twitter reactions:
rhaenyra targaryen supported her gay husband, allowed him to have his lovers, encouraged him to be with them, and finally she helped him fake his own death to run away and live a happy gay life. THIS IS HOW REAL ALLIES BEHAVE WE WON'T ACCEPT ANY LESS#HouseOfTheDragon pic.twitter.com/GeDejjk5kc

Ngl, even I am happy about the fact that House Of The Dragon, unlike House Of The Dragon, has not killed LGBTQ+ characters.
