Golden Globes 2022 Full List Of Winners: From Sarah Snook For Succession To Jane Campion For The Power Of The Dog

The Golden Globes, one of the biggies of the Hollywood awards season, was a downplayed affair this year, amidst allegations of corruption and a boycott by major studios. And who knows, perhaps even the rising COVID cases. There were no virtual red carpets of presentation ceremonies either; in fact, there was no televised awards function at all. And yet, that does not undermine the brilliance of the talent that was honoured on Sunday night, which included amongst them the likes of Kate Winslet, Michael Keaton, Jean Smart, Jason Sudeikis, Billie Eilish, Nicole Kidman, Arian DeBose, Hans Zimmer, Andrew Garfield and more, for titles like The Power Of The Dog, Succession, Hacks, Ted Lasso, Being The Ricardos, Tick, Tick… Boom!, Mare Of Easttown, Squid Game, Dune and more.

The Power Of The Dog, directed by Jane Campion and currently streaming on Netflix, and West Side Story, the remake of the popular Stephen Sondheim Broadway musical by Steven Spielberg, swept most of the top honours, including Best Picture in their respective categories. Campion was also named Best Director, while Rachel Zegler and Ariana DeBose won for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress In A Motion Picture (Musical Or Comedy). The Power Of The Dog is the first Netflix film to bag the Best Picture Golden Globe win and only the second film directed by a female director to win this honour.

Some rather unsurprising but definitely deserved wins came for Succession, which won for Best Drama series as well as wins for Best Actor Jeremy Strong and Best Supporting Actress for Sarah Snook; Hans Zimmer for the magnificent score of Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic Dune; and for singer Billie Eilish for her No Time To Die title song.
