As per the various news reports, Anik Dutta passed away after falling from the terrace of his wife’s residence in Kolkata. The actor was 66 years old when he took his last breath. Filmmaker Anik Dutta’s Demise
As per The Telegraph report, well-known Bengali filmmaker Anik Dutta died after falling from the terrace of his wife’s residence in Hindusthan Park. The director was reportedly going to meet his wife; however, instead of meeting her, he went straight to the terrace and allegedly fell from there. This unfortunate incident happened on Wednesday. The police began investigating the incident, and the initial probe revealed that the authorities found a note in an envelope inside the magazine that read the director was “solely responsible for the actions.” According to the reports, the note was addressed to Anik Dutta’s daughter, as per which he requested that nobody should be bothered about the same. The CCTV footage reportedly showed the filmmaker going to the terrace all by himself.
Who Was Anik Dutta?
Anik Dutta was a critically acclaimed director who made his official debut in 2012. His first directorial was Bhooter Bhabishyat. Anik Dutta was also the writer of the film. Born and brought up in Kolkata, he went on to direct more films like Aschorjo Prodip, Meghnad Badh Rahasya, and Aparajito, among others. The director won many accolades for his debut film. It’s said that the director’s filmmaking style was deeply inspired by the legend Satyajit Ray.
