Ashok Kharat Case: ED Reveals Rape Accused Gave Misleading Answers, Astrologer Sent To Judicial Custody, More Updates

Ashok Kharat’s Case, Here’s What ED Said

The Enforcement Directorate gave its statement to the court, after which Ashok Kharat was sent back to judicial custody as the ED did not seek his further custody. As per The Indian Express report, the ED stated that Kharat had given ‘misleading’ answers during the investigation, and his responses revealed the involvement of many other people, too.

Court Extends Ashok Kharat’s Judicial Custody

A hearing took place on Tuesday, and according to news reports, Ashok Kharat’s judicial custody was extended by 14-days till June 9.

Enforcement Directorate’s Revelations

The ED has claimed that during the investigation, it uncovered a 40-crore racket and numerous “benami accounts” allegedly used for money laundering. As per an NDTV report, the ED further stated that Kharat exploited the victims on their “religious vulnerabilities” and under the pretext of helping them.

SIT Probing Case

A Special Investigation Team has been formed to investigate the Ashok Kharat assault cases. For the unversed, as per the news reports, the self-styled godman faces 12 se*xual assault and cheating cases.
