In a recent episode of The Male Feminist, host Siddharth Alambayan engaged in a thought-provoking conversation with Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, where she opened up about her encounters with catcalling and eve teasing, experiences that resonate with countless Indian women. Priyanka’s recollection took her back to her time in Delhi, where she vividly described an incident from her school days, revealing her bold and unwavering response to such harassment.

Priyanka recalled a specific incident during her early years in Delhi when she was a student in school. Despite her young age, she displayed remarkable courage and strength in the face of harassment. Priyanka revealed that her response to such encounters was to meet the gaze of the men and stare back at them, asserting her presence and refusing to be intimidated. As she expressed, “Koi mere ko dekhe na toh mai usko sidha aankhon mein aankhe daal k dekhti hu,”.

In her unwavering resolve to combat catcalling and eve teasing, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary shared further anecdotes during her conversation, revealing the extent of her boldness in addressing uncomfortable situations. One incident she vividly recalled took place while she was traveling on a bus to an event. A man seated in front of her continuously stared at her while she was eating, causing her to feel uneasy and awkward. Without hesitation, Priyanka directly approached the man and confronted him, offering him some of the food she was consuming. She recalled the incident, saying, “Aage wali seat pe bhaiya dekh rhe the baar baar, and it was so weird, so I finally asked him ki ap kha lo bhaiya khana,”.

Priyanka’s fearless response exemplifies her unwavering commitment to asserting her boundaries and challenging the behaviour that makes women feel uncomfortable. By directly confronting the man, she not only addressed the awkwardness of the situation but also questioned the appropriateness of his actions.
