I am not sure if 2021 had anything so great to offer apart from some amazing shows that contributed to my overtly increased screen time (NGL). A window to escape the much-adventurous saal, films and web shows came in, as a boon for many of us and I am sure you’d agree too. Be it Squid Game, The Family Man 2, or films like Sardar Udham and Pagglait, every narrative served as food for my soul. Renovating and reworking the ideas of storytelling, the Indian entertainment universe managed to present a mixed roster of some pathbreaking tales and talent. And as we bid this year adieu and welcome the coming new year, all I am secretly wishing for is more mind-boggling content that transports me to many unexplored lands while I take a seat on my couch. Sharing with you a list of some much-awaited names, here we have 5 shows that will be renewed for a new season this coming year. Have a look!

Made In heaven

I still remember how deeply this show touched me, and I am thrilled to watch its next instalment. With actors Sobhita Dhulipala and Arjun Mathur driving the narrative, the show first gained popularity with its debut season in the year 2019 and ever since then, viewers have been eagerly waiting for the next set of episodes. And this coming new year, characters Tara and Karan will return with another series of shaadis, more emotions and loads of love.

Delhi Crime

Making waves with powerful storytelling, Netflix will renew popular show Delhi Crime for the next season. Featuring actors Rasika Dugal, Shefali Shah and Adil Hussain, the show was awarded the title of ‘Outstanding Drama Series’ at the prestigious International Emmy Awards 2020. The next season will further throw light on the aftermath story of the Delhi gang rape case of 2012.

Masaba Masaba

Portraying the interesting life in a not so interesting way, Masaba Masaba will return with a brand new season this coming year. Based on designer Masaba Gupta’s life, the first season of the show, which debuted in August 2020, garnered a mixed response from the audiences, partially positive. Essayed by Masaba herself, the next instalment of the show will unleash “twice the laughter, twice the tears and twice the fun,” as Masaba Gupta says.

Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives

Fuelling a lot of buzz in the year 2020, the show Fabulous Loves Of Bollywood Wives will return with a bang in the coming year. Filled with lots of gossip, the show revolves around the lives of popular Bollywood wives– Seema Khan, Bhavana Pandey, Maheep Kapoor and Neelam Kothari, and the next season is said to be bigger than before (I mean I am all up for some gup and entertainment).

One of the most loved shows of 2020, the Jintendra Kumar led show will follow the life of Abhishek Tripathi from a village named Phulera. Also starring actors like Neena Gupta and Raghubir Yadav, the show was well-received by audiences, critics alike and won many awards for its narrative. The show will soon return with a new set of episodes in 2022.
