Dar Gai, Intimacy Director Of ‘Gehraiyaan’, Opens Up About Her Family Being Stuck In Ukraine Amidst The Ongoing War

The world already has been a messed up place and the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia has made it even worse. So many families and students have been stuck in the country with barely any resources. Out of the many families that are unable to leave the war-struck country, is the family of Dar Gai. She was the intimacy director of Gehraiyaan, recently opened up about how her parents and family are struggling in Ukraine and are unable to leave.

Dar Gai, who is a filmmaker and was an intimacy director for Gehraiyaan, spoke about how her parents tried to leave Kyiv, Ukraine, for several days but were unable to do so since there was a lot of traffic. She further added how her 78-year-old grandmother refused to leave the country.

The Ukraine-born filmmaker, in an interview, said that her parents did not get to leave Kyiv because there was a lot of traffic since a lot of people were leaving to take shelter somewhere safe. She added that her family later left for their village which is 45 minutes away from the city.

She even went on to talk about how her mother and brother travelled to the border to help women and kids to move across the border. Speaking about her grandmother, she said that the old woman who is residing with her step-father refused to leave Ukraine and is also ready to fight for the country.

The intimacy director is extremely concerned about her family. Sharing her concerns, she said that when her family wanted to go back from the village to their grandmother’s, the roads that connect to the bridge were bombed. Dar Gai is worried about her family that is stuck somewhere in the middle of Ukraine and is finding their way to safety.

And she’s not the only one who is worried. There are many families who have their children or relatives or spouses or someone they care about stuck in Ukraine. I hope this passes soon.
