The former Australian cricketer Bret Lee had joined Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in 2008. He was a part of the IPL team co-owned by Preity Zinta for two years before moving to Kolkata Knight Riders. During this phase, Bret Lee and Preity Zinta sparked dating rumours among fans, which were never addressed by either of them. However, during a recent interview with Bombay Times, Bret Lee has clarified that he never dated any Indian actor. He further added that he and Preity Zinta were just friends, and they are still great friends. Bret Lee added that Preity Zinta was his boss back then, and also expressed immense respect for her. He also called Preity Zinta an incredibly smart woman.
Bret Lee also added that such rumours never affected him and that he was never bothered by them because people say whatever they want to.
