Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has been making headlines ever since the release of the Ramayana trailer. While many loved to see him play the role of Lord Ram, others were not convinced with his casting and said that he didn’t look the part. Who Is Nikita Rawal Boycotting Ranbir Kapoor?
For the unversed, during a chat on a podcast with Bollywood Mascot, Nikita Rawal stated that playing a character like Lord Rama went beyond acting. She pointed out that the actors picked to play such esteemed roles must be conscious of the things they associate themselves with as part of the audience’s expectations. She further asked everyone to boycott Ranbir Kapoor. This led to many wondering about her background as well. Nikita is an actor who has featured in multiple Bollywood and South Indian films. She is a hotelier and an NGO activist. She has also learned Kathak dancer and has represented India on National level. As per IMDb, she is called the “Shakira” of the INdian dance industry.
Nikita has starred in films like Black & White with Anil Kapoor and Shefali Shah, Mr hot Mr Kool and The Hero-Abhimanyu. Rawal has been working in Tollywood since 2012 and has earned right awards. She has also featured in many TV commercials and PSAs. During her podcast appearance, she recalled Ranbir Kapoor’s statement about liking beef and questioned how someone who has said such a thing could play the role of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram without a public apology about his statement.
