“What Exactly Is So Funny,” Writes Celina Jaitly To Troll Who Said Transgenders Are Seen At Traffic Signals

Let us be honest. Transgenders face horrible discrimination from those who society. They are called horrible names and are constantly made fun of. It is almost like people do not see them as human beings and think it is cool to make fun of their sexual orientation. Transgenders are cast out from the community so much so that no one is ready to give them jobs. So, they have no other option but to beg, and their plight is heart-wrenching. Ironically, more like moronically, on March 31, which is International Transgender Day of Visibility, a social media user thought it is a good idea to make fun of transgenders. But Celina Jaitly schooled the troll, and gave them a piece of her mind.

Taking to Twitter on International Transgender Day of Visibility, Celina Jaitly shared a video compilation of her from all the times she had attended transgender support rallies. She also penned a caption writing how some of the bravest people in the world are transgenders. She further went on to write that she stands to fight all injustice happening against the community.

But a social user dropped a comment on the post by writing that he is only reminded of the gender of the transgenders at traffic signals. Celina Jaitly did not this mean comment go unnoticed and went on to reply to the troll by asking what is it that he finds about transgenders begging. She also asked him does he not find it heartbreaking to see someone resorting to begging to earn money because of their gender. Stressing the importance of Trans Visibility, Celina added that it is people like him who find the dire situations of trans people funny and which is exactly why their visibility matters.

It is really sad to see how ignorant people are towards the problems of transgenders. There is no sensitivity in people for the community and they don’t try o understand that it is because of people like them that transgenders do not get jobs.
