D4vd Faces Trial For Killing After Impregnating Celeste Rivas
As per reports, after five days of testimony in preliminary hearings, a judge ruled that the murder case against D4VD will proceed to full trial. The trial must begin within the next 90 days. Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman confirmed that the singer is eligible for the death penalty. Authorities are still deciding whether to pursue it.
During the hearings, the defence attempted to blame Celeste for her own death. They referred to old text messages in which she had made threats. Celeste’s family strongly pushed back against this claim and criticised the defence for shifting blame onto the victim.
Further, prosecutors presented strong evidence of a long pattern of s*xual abuse. A detective shared details from many text messages between D4VD and Celeste that stretched from late 2023 to early 2025. In those messages, Celeste often expressed fear that she was pregnant. She later became pregnant and had an abortion in January 2024. The messages showed D4VD offering some support but also questioning if the child was his and getting advice from his mother on the matter.

Detectives also recovered dozens of images from the singer’s phone that documented the s*xual abuse and their physical relationship. Some photos showed the two in intimate situations, including one that was once used as his phone lock screen. Many of these images were considered too graphic to show in court.
