Yet another update.
Months After Court Decreed That Amber Heard Defamed Johnny Depp, Over 130 Domestic Violence Organisations Come Out In Support Of Her

A couple of months ago, the verdict on the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard case was out. A courthouse in Virginia ruled in Depp’s favor stating that the Aquaman actress had defamed her ex-husband. Society as a whole had mixed reactions to this verdict – while some supported Depp, others supported the latter. And this mixed reaction just got a whole lot more complicated when more and more information about their relationship went public. And now, a journalist took to Twitter to point out that days after the verdict, over 130 groups and organisations in the domestic violence and sexual assault field have signed an open letter in support of Amber Heard.

On November 16, Eve Barlow, a journalist, took to her Twitter to say how on June 1, a courthouse in Virginia ruled in favor of Johnny Depp and decreed that Amber Heard defamed him. And after a lot of evidence coming out publicly, it is now that organizations and groups in the field of domestic violence and sexual assault have signed an open letter in support of the actress.

She tweeted, “It’s been 168 days since June 1. It’s been 168 days since a Virginia courthouse decreed that Amber Heard defamed her ex-husband (Johnny Depp). It’s been a strange 168 days. Today is different.”

The journalist in the following tweet wrote how she woke up to see “over 130 organizations, academics and experts in the field of domestic violence and sexual assault” have come together to sign an open letter in support of Amber Heard. She goes on to say that this letter gives a sense of comfort to all those women who have been victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Further, she adds, “To all the female survivors, you are so loved and so important, and you have displayed more courage every day and incurred such wrath for your passion and integrity that I hope you celebrate today” followed by a heart emoji. The journalist also attaches the open letter in her tweet for all to read.

When it comes to Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s defamation case, I personally believe that there is a lot that is said and a lot that is unsaid. I believe that only time will tell what becomes of them and their legal battle.
