Ever since the word ‘nepotism’ made its way into the vocabulary of Indians, it is getting thrown around casually. People also have united to collectively hate Bollywood celebrities who have star parents. From jumping in on the boycott bandwagon to trolling the celebrities unnecessarily every chance they get, the “nepo babies” talk has become quite a rage. Amid this, Alia Bhatt seemed to have hurt the sentiments of these people by ‘owning’ that she is a nepo kid! Okay, so what happened was Alia ‘liked’ a picture of Hailey Bieber on Instagram who was wearing a t-shirt that had ‘nepo kid’ written across it, and people are not happy.

Hailey Bieber’s picture was shared by the popular Instagram account Diet Sabya. Donning the t-shirt with a pair of denim pants, the model had stepped out in Los Angeles on January 6, 2023. With her hair left open, Hailey looked cool in the casual outfit. The post was captioned, “Own it!” Hailey’s parents are Stephen Baldwin and Kennya Baldwin, and the supermodel is married to popstar Justin Bieber. Interestingly, Alia Bhatt liking this post has left Internet users miffed!

Well, a lot of people were discussing Hailey’s nepotism inheritance but there was a certain section of people who went on a different trajectory altogether! Alia liking the post did not skip people’s attention who have trolled her and also labelled her ‘tone deaf’. One of the users who engaged with the post has also said that Alia has ‘zero redeeming quality’. Another one also took a jibe at the owner of the account by writing that the account was run by Karan Johar.
A couple of days ago, Diet Sabya also shared their version of the New York magazine’s cover about nepo babies. The desi version of this cover had Janhvi Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and others on it.
