From Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmāstra to Jasmeet K.Reen’s Darlings, Alia portrayed some of the most brilliant and challenging roles this year and showed us that she is more than a typical Bollywood heroine. In the film, her character Badrunissa Shaikh kidnaps her own husband to take revenge for all the abuse he has served her in so many years of their marriage, it highlights a deep-rooted issue that still exists in our society. She also made her debut as a producer with this film.

Alia Bhatt also made her South debut in SS Rajamouli’s RRR starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR. Even though she played a supporting role in the film, she didn’t miss the chance to impress the audience with her exceptional acting skills. For the unversed, RRR’s song ‘Naatu Naatu’ is shortlisted for the Academy Awards. Apart from this, the film has also bagged two Golden Globes nominations.
