Tweeple Upset With Akshay Kumar For His Public Disapproval Of Richa Chadha’s “Galwan” Tweet. Where Is The ‘Fraternity’?
Dost dost na raha.Richa Chadha has always been known to speak her mind and many of her fans love her for that. But recently this very thing has got the actress into some serious trouble. For those living under a rock, after Northern Army Commander Lt General Upendra Dwivedi remarked on how the Indian Army is all geared up to win PoK back from Pakistan, the actress wrote a tweet that read, “Galwan says hi”. Needless to say, she received a lot of flak from tweeple as well as celebs like Akshay Kumar. You’d think people would be happy that Akshay Kumar called out Richa Chadha for her unnecessary tweet, but it is not the case.
Yep, people on Twitter are now coming after Akshay Kumar for calling out Richa Chadha publicly. For those unversed, Akshay Kumar commented on her tweet and wrote, “Hurts to see this. Nothing ever should make us ungrateful towards our armed forces. Woh hain toh aaj hum hain.”

If you were so hurt, you could have texted her, given she is your industry colleague. Of course, you chose to grandstand here and add to the viciousness she is facing. https://t.co/JhF3297pDt

Someone tell Canadian Kumar to shut up.
When PM said ‘no one has entered our territory’ he disrespected the supreme sacrifice of our 20 brave hearts. He disregarded the valour and courage of our armed forces.
Imagine, PM Modi and Chinese PLA speak the same thing. Shame

From all the responses I read, the criticism of Akshay Kumar should not be because he's a Canadian citizen. It should be because he's not oblivious to the fact that his comment on the issue will embolden a mob of abusers. He did it anyway. He could have put her in harm's way

How hurt was @akshaykumar when the Chinese incursion occurred? Was he hurt over the political failure that led to the Galwan episode, or is he only upset over Richa's quip? https://t.co/xzsv4dydZN

did she say something about the Royal Canadian Mounted police? or the Canadian armed forces …
why is someone, who gave up his Indian citizenship voluntarily – have an issue with what an Indian is saying. https://t.co/EaDLITjHM7— Harini Calamur (@calamur) November 25, 2022
And we still call it film *fraternity*… Throwing your own under the bus…

On one hand, we have people giving the actress flak for her Galwan tweet, on the other hand, Ashoke Pandit, the president of the Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association and filmmaker, filed a police complaint against Richa Chadha. He also urged the authorities to lodge an FIR complaint against her. His reason for doing so is that no citizen, even celebrities, should be mocking the defense forces.
