#BoycottBollywood And #BoycottFukrey3 Trends After Richa Chadha’s Insensitive Comment On Indian Army
For the longest time, a Bollywood actor could literally exhale incorrectly and boycotting their next film would be trending on Twitter for days. For several months, Boycott Bollywood dominated the Twitter trend before fading away. However, Richa Chadha’s comment on the armed forces has brought the boycott campaign back to life.
One of Richa’s professional high points is the film Fukrey, which also features her husband Ali Faizal. Two earlier iterations also did well at the box office. However, the boycott call’s resurgence and its appearance on social media may have a significant impact on the launch and commercial success of Fukrey 3.
The Masaan actress is facing wrath on social media for her “Galwan” tweet, in which she responded to Northern Army Commander Lt. Gen. Upendra Dwivedi’s assertion that the Indian Army is prepared to carry out orders like retaking Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The actor tweeted, “Galwan says hi,” sharing a now deleted tweet.
This is the statement given by Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi GOC-in-C Northern Command. He simply said that there is a Parliamentary Resolution (1994) & we are ready. @RichaChadha reacted to a tweet which deliberately misrepresented the statement of Army Commander. Unfortunate. pic.twitter.com/L9Ciy2aSJo

Tweeple are criticising the actor for mocking the Indian Army and downplaying the sacrifice made by the jawans during the 2020 India-China conflict in Galwan. Manjinder Singh Sirsa, a BJP leader and referred to the tweet as “Disgraceful”. He said that the tweet should be withdrawn as soon as possible as it is inappropriate to disparage our armed forces. Check out the backlash against Richa Chadha:
Disgraceful Tweet. Should be withdrawn at the earliest. Insulting our armed forces is not justified. https://t.co/eetOjHrDor

"Galwan says hi" writes Richa Chadha in response to a statement by a commanding officer on POK. Disrespecting those who gave their lives for India. Mocking the Indian army. She proves once again there is no limit to how low this industry can sink. A boycott is all they are worth.

Anand Dubey, a spokesman for the Shiv Sena (Uddhav group), demanded that Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, and Amit Shah take harsh measures against the actor’s “anti-national” comment. Richa Chadha was also criticised by former BJYM National Vice President Neeraj Jain for her post, and he asked social media users to report the actor’s Twitter for making disparaging comments about the Indian Army.

The Galwan Valley clash was a battle between the armies of India and China that took place in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley on June 15, 2020. The clash, which resulted in the deaths of 20 Indian soldiers and was one of the deadliest in 45 years, prompted at least 11 rounds of military negotiations for the disengagement process with China.
