It is Women’s Day today and I’m here to talk about the real women of the world that have been a source of true inspiration. The women that I’m going to talk about have aced in their fields and have time and again proved how good they are. And the best part about it is the fact that these 12 women have inspired, empowered, and motivated the entire team of Hauterrfly. Yep, these are the women that we look up to whenever we need help or motivation or to feel like we’re not alone in our fight.

So who are these 12 real women? Well, they have been ruling their respective fields, empowering women worldwide, and have influenced Team Hauterrfly. She’s literally the face of sexual health in India. I mean everyone in India – especially youngsters – will recognise her. If she isn’t inspiring I don’t know who is. She talks about all the taboo topics from female pleasure to masturbation to fantasizing to BDSM to safe sex. We love the confidence and simplicity with which she explains everything to people via Instagram.

2. Tanvi Geetha Ravishankar

We like that she shows body positivity in a healthy way, with a good diet, and a rigorous workout. She makes her followers feel confident in trying new types of outfits without being self-conscious. In the simplest manner, she will help you fall in love with your body and own it the way it is!

3. Vibha Harish

We love how she started a company to tackle a problem she herself faced – PCOS – rather than relying on someone else. Moreover, she listens to her customers and is ethical and transparent as a businesswoman, which we really look up to.

4. Falguni Nayar

What do we say about a woman who started her company at 49? Not only that but she also made it into one of the biggest beauty companies in India. This woman just proved that age is a number and don’t let that or anything else come in the way of your dreams.

We are all readers at Hauterrfly and so we had to have a writer on the list. What we love about her is that even after being married with kids, she didn’t give up on her dreams. Kept fighting for it until she became one of the most admired writers of our times and we love her spirit.

6. Masaba Gupta

The fashion designer remains an inspiration for us through and through. A woman who isn’t afraid to try out new things with prints or her life. Whether it is talking about fashion, her family, or PCOS, she doesn’t shy away from expressing herself. A bold and beautiful woman that has us draped around her.

Do I even need to say why she is on the list? She is an advocate for women’s right to education, championed for women’s equality, and even joined forces with organizations that helped women get better job opportunities. A modern-day, revolutionary woman who has made a global impact.

8. Mahua Moitra

One of the few politicians we actually like. Her speeches are so empowering and so on point. She always gives fiery speeches in the Parliament and does not hesitate to call out people who try to school her – we just love that about her.

9. Alankrita Shrivastava

We love her movies. Period. She is one of the few directors who gives an inside view on women’s issues and their sexuality. She has a way of portraying women’s empowerment in a way that makes us gush about her.

10. Taapsee Pannu

An actor who has made her name in not only movies that have a hard-hitting social message but also in mainstream Bollywood. Whether it is about playing a bold role in a movie or making a bold statement, Taapsee Pannu is never the one to disappoint.

11. Anubha Bhonsle

As a female journalist, she made her mark in the world of mainstream media which is dominated by men. She inspires young women like us who want to work in the field of journalism but lack the confidence and courage.

12. Taylor Swift

What we love about her is that she narrates a story through her songs. Songs that are relatable, inclusive, and all about celebrating your own self and womanhood. Even in her personal life, she doesn’t let anyone talk her down and most of the time she cheers for other female artists.
