‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ Trailer: Rishi Kapoor, Paresh Rawal’s Film Is About Finding Passion At The Most Unexpected Time In Life
It was back on April 30, 2020, when we lost one of the veteran actors to cancer – Rishi Kapoor. His death left the entire film industry and his fans from around the country mourning for him. Ngl, he was one of my all-time favourite actors and his death felt a lot more personal than I ever thought it would. But as they say, ‘The show must go on’ and it does. All fans of the legendary actor can see him for one last time in his element doing what he loves to do – act. How? Well, because the trailer of his last film, Sharmaji Namkeen, is here and it won’t be long before the movie drops on Amazon Prime Video. However, Sharmaji Namkeen is not only creating a lot of buzzes because it is the last film of Rishi Kapoor but also because we’ll see another legendary actor – Paresh Rawal – playing the same character. Interesting isn’t it?

On March 17, 2022, the makers of Sharmaji Namkeen dropped its trailer and it is a move that highlights the fact that there is no age to come of age. It is a movie based on the life of a retired common man who finds his passion – cooking – after he joins a women’s kitty circle.

The Hitesh Bhatia directorial is a relatable and heartwarming tale of an everyday common man that sends a message that life doesn’t end when one retires. Sharmaji Namkeen, alongside Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal who play the same character, also stars Juhi Chawla, Suhail Nayyar, Taaruk Raina, Satish Kaushik, Sheeba Chaddha, and Isha Talwar.

There are two things that I’m really excited to see in the film – 1) Rishi Kapoor for one last and 2) how the writers portray two actors as the same character. I have to say that the storyline is unique and something most retirees would relate to.
Sharmaji Namkeen will be released on Amazon Prime Video on March 31, 2022.
