Model Who Accused Raj Kundra Of Asking For Nude Audition Claims She’s Getting Rape Threats, Vulgar Calls

The pornography case under which Raj Kundra has been put in judicial custody by the Mumbai Police is churning out new developments multiple times a day. While the cops are declaring one ‘proof’ after another, from WhatsApp chats to allegedly incriminating emails, and have now even raided Shilpa Shetty’s house in Juhu and recorded her statement, Kundra’s lawyers have claimed that not even a single video from the app in questions can be termed pornographic. And as all this happens, there have been  women who have spoken up about the arrest and attested to both Kundra’s behaviour with them and the nature of the videos in question. One such person is actor and model Sagarika Shona Suman.

When the news of Raj Kundra being arrested dropped, Sagarika told a news channel that she had once been asked to audition in the nude for a web series that she claimed was being produced by Raj Kundra. This happened during August last year, in the lockdown, when Suman said she was approached by one Umesh Kamat, who has also been arrested by the cops in this case. Suman was then asked to audition on a Zoom call, in the nude.

“When I joined the video call, he demanded that I give a nude audition. I was shocked and I refused. The video call had three people, one of whom had their face covered and one of them was Raj Kundra, I think. I want that if he is involved in such things, he is arrested and such a racket is exposed.”

Since the investigation is still ongoing, there has not been any confirmation or denial on her statement from the police or Raj Kundra’s team. Meanwhile, Sagarika Shona Suman has now told the media that in the wake of her statement, she is now receiving vulgar, abusive calls with rape threats even.

She told Zee News, “I am disturbed and depressed because I am getting calls from different online platforms. They are threatening me. I am getting threats of death and rape. People are calling me from different numbers and asking me what wrong has Raj Kundra done. They are threatening me and accusing me of shutting down their business. They even said that you people watch porn films that’s why we are making it.”

This is yet another example of just how difficult it is for women to come forward with their stories of abuse, because some way or the other, people find a way to shift the blame on her or prove her to have some ulterior motive. We don’t yet know the extent to which her statements are true or not true. But if she has come forward with it, the right way to go about it is to make her feel safe enough that she can stand by her truth, seek legal recourse and get justice. Believe her, it’s just that simple, and then let the law enforcement do their job of deciding who is right and who is wrong. What’s with rape threats and abusive messages to intimidate anyone who speaks up?
