Here’s Why ‘Eternals’ Star Salma Hayek Is “Very Nervous” About Visiting India With Mother And Daughter

For a country as diverse as India, it sure can be confusing where to go for travel, don’t you think? Think about it, we literally have everything one might be into while they travel. There is something here for everyone. I imagine it might be more confusing for someone who isn’t from here, right? Imagine having a set number of days to travel a country as vast as India. How would they know where to start and which places to cover? No matter what, they are bound to miss out on something or the other. Eternals star Salma Hayek opened up recently about how she would love to visit India someday and why that makes her nervous.

In an exclusive interview with India Today, Salma Hayek talked about her new movie, Marvel’s Eternals, directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Chloé Zhao, in which she plays Ajak, the leader of an alien race of immortal superheroes called the Eternals. In the interview, Salma spoke about her wish to visit India, much like her Eternals co-star, Angelina Jolie, who plays the warrrio Thena. Hayek was asked what her plans to visit India were to which she responded saying, “I think I am going to come visit pretty soon. I have a dream of taking my mother and daughter and going on a journey through India. Except, I am very nervous because there are so many places and every time I ask someone if there are generations of girls, where should they start their visit, I get confused. But next time I have a break, maybe I will do this.”

When asked, “What can fans expect from Eternals?” Salma Hayek said, “Surprises! It has the DNA of a Marvel film but it is full of surprises.”

As someone who lives in India, I can imagine how confusing and overwhelming it can be to think of India as a whole as a travel destination. How does one even begin to experience the essence of India and the diverse cultural landscapes we have to offer in just a matter of days or weeks, even. I really hope Salma Hayek comes over with her mother and daughter and actually enjoy everything India has to offer!
