Don’t Mix Erotica With Porn, Says Gehana Vasisth, Out On Bail in The Same Case As Raj Kundra
While we were trying to grapple with the Pegasus news, another major bombshell galloped into our news feed. Raj Kundra, businessman and husband to actor Shilpa Shetty, was arrested by Mumbai Police in connection with a pornography case. The Mumbai Crime Branch had been investigating this case since February 2021, and in the course of their probe, had even arrested nine persons in connection with creating porn films and publishing them online through certain apps. One of these nine people was actor-model Gehana Vasisth, who has now come forth to speak about Raj Kundra’s arrest, and clarifying that the films that were being referred to in the matter aren’t porn but erotica.

Why was Raj Kundra arrested?
On Monday evening, Mumbai Police arrested Raj Kundra, and made an official statement that they had evidence in the form of WhatsApp chats between Kundra and his business partners, that led them to suspect that he was the key conspirator in the setup. The cops had, during their probe, arrested one Umesh Kamat who was the former PA of Kundra, and later worked as an executive in a UK production company called Kenrin. He was accused of uploading at least eight dubious videos that were shot by Gehana Vasisth, on a social media app. The cops have reason to believe that Kundra is a stakeholder in the production house.
Raj Kundra has now been sent to judicial custody until July 23.

Gehana Vasisth says her videos are erotica, not porn
In a video that she made, Gehana Vasisth aka Vandana Tiwari, slammed everyone who said that Kenrin Production house, that is being mentioned in the case, created porn. She clarified that the videos produced by her via GV Studios was not porn but simply erotica, much like web series such as Gandi Baat, made by producers like Ekta Kapoor.
“We don’t make porn, it’s normal erotica, similar to Ekta Kapoor’s Gandi Baat. I request you all to first watch these videos and then make a judgement. Not a single video comes in the porn category. I have full faith in Mumbai police and will not do any injustice. None of the videos is porn, it’s only bold. Don’t miss erotica with porn.”
Without mentioning Raj Kundra by name, Vasisth’s publicist said in an official official statement, “We don’t want to comment anymore, as Gehana is on bail in the same cases and she does not want to prejudice or impair her right to her personal defence. However, police should investigate fully as there are many more skeletons in the cupboards of the rich and famous.”
Well, the plot thickens, and for now is at a very subjective juncture. We will have to wait and watch what the police investigation yields.
