Weekend Watchlist: ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, ‘Lock Upp’, ‘The Fame Game’, 5 Things To Watch This Weekend
The weekend is almost here and as much as I love my work and Team Hauterrfly, I also love my weekends. More so, because this is when I get to binge-watch all the possible content. And with the pandemic situation getting better, we can all hit the theatres to get our fill of trending movies and of course, we have all the OTT platforms at our disposal to consume all the amazing series that are available at a click of a button. Having said that, I know of some of the best movies and series that have hit the screens. So, I’ve put together a list of binge-worthy content you can watch curled up in bed with your weekend glass of wine or hot chocolate.
1. Gangubai Kathiawadi
This Alia Bhatt starrer biographical crime drama directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali released in the theatres on 25 February. This film follows the story of a madame of the red light area of Mumbai, Kamathipura, Gangubai Kathiawadi. This film also stars Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari and Seema Pahwa in pivotal roles.
2. Love Hostel
This romantic thriller starring Bobby Deol, Vikrant Massey and Sanya Malhotra is streaming on OTT platform Zee5. Love Hostel is produced by Gauri Khan, Manish Mundra, Gaurav Verma under Red Chillies Entertainment and Drishyam Films.
3. The Fame Game
This Madhuri Dixit Nene starrer follows the story of a famous actress who goes missing. With the investigation of her disappearance, the layers of her life begin unfolding as the facade of her perfect life begins fading revealing the secrets of her life. This series also stars Sanjay Kapoor, Manav Kaul, Rajshri Deshpande, Muskkaan Jaferi, Lakshvir Singh Saran, Gagan Arora, Suhasini Muley and Shubhangi Latkar. This eight-episode series is currently streaming on the OTT platform Netflix.

4. Yatri Kripya Dhyan De
This 16-minute long film is currently streaming on Amazon MiniTV on the Amazon shopping app. This suspense thriller short film stars only two characters played by Shaheer Sheikh and Shweta Basu Prasad.

5. Lock Upp

Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming reality show hosted by Kangana Ranaut titled Lock Upp is all set to air on OTT platforms ALT Balaji and MX Player on 27 February, Sunday. It follows a narrative similar to Bigg Boss. As of now, the identity of only 3 contestants has been revealed. Nisha Rawal, Poonam Pandey and Munawar Faruqui are the three controversial contestants to be locked up for this show.
