‘The Gone Game 2’ Trailer: The Mystery Around Gujrals Intensifies With Suhani Gujral’s Murder
Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, we heard several conspiracy theories about Coronavirus cases being false and people being killed and numerous other Covid-19 pandemic-related scams. Much along the lines of this concept, a psychological thriller series starring Sanjay Kapoor, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Arjun Mathur, Lubna Salim, Rukhsar Rehman, Dibyendu Bhattacharya and Indraneil Sengupta and directed by Nikhil Bhat, The Gone Game premiered on Voot Select. The show not only revolved around the concept of the Covid-19 pandemic but was also almost entirely shot within the confines of the homes of the actors and directed remotely. It premiered on Voot in August 2020, smack in the middle of the pandemic. And now, the second season of the series is all set to premiere on the OTT platform on July 7. Ahead of the release, the streaming platform has released the trailer of the much-anticipated series The Gone Game 2.
Directed by Abhishek Sengupta and produced by Bodhitree Multimedia, The Gone Game 2 stars Sanjay Kapoor, Arjun Mathur, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya who will reprise their roles along with Harleen Sethi and Amit Jairath who will introduce new characters to the show. While the first season, which was completely shot at home during the lockdown, explored the relatability of the pandemic-ridden world under lockdown, the second season will showcase a post-pandemic world where the realities of the lockdown are unmasked. The first season followed the story of Sahil Gujral who was believed to have lost his life to Coronavirus only to discover that he had in fact fled after pulling off a financial scam to the tune of 300 crores. But the plot thickens in season 2 as Sahil’s wife Suhan Gujral is murdered just days before she was going to reveal the truth about her husband. And the murder mystery gets murkier after the Gujral family becomes the prime suspect in the case. But are the Gujrals really guilty of murder or is there a bigger game?

Speaking about The Gone Game 2, Sanjay Kapoor shared that season 1 of the show received a lot of love from critics and audiences alike while adding that it was a memorable experience to shoot it amid the lockdown. He further said that he hopes the second season is also appreciated by the audiences. Actor Arjun Mathur shared that while season 1 was “uniquely challenging and exciting”, season 2 was “no less than a bumpy ride of its own”. He also revealed that this season is a roller coaster ride punctuated with “double-crosses and secrets coming to light”. Shweta Tripathi Sharma said that The Gone Game takes the idea of an engaging thriller to a whole new level. Shriya Pilgaonkar also spoke about season 2 of The Gone Game and said that the cast was excited to meet each other and shoot in person this time. She revealed that her character Suhani Gujral is not only intriguing but also essential to the storyline. She concluded that the “subsequent turn of events” in this season will be gripping.
