Richa Chadda Speaks On Behalf Of Those Who Are Celebrating ‘Dhaakad’s’ Flop, Says People Are Expressing Dissent
Kangana Ranaut’s Dhaakad began on an unsuccessful note at the box office as it opened with less than Rs 1 crore on day one. There are also reports that due to a lack of the audience’s interest in the film, it is also being taken down from the theatres. Let us be honest, Kangana has more enemies than friends and her opinions on political matters have also left the audience divided. This is one of the reasons why those who do not like Kangana Ranaut are ‘celebrating’ the tanking of Dhaakad. Now, Richa Chadda has come to the defence of all those who are celebrating the failure of the film.
Former Bigg Boss contestant Tehseen Poonawala took to his Twitter to write that trolling Kangana Ranaut for Dhaakad is ‘unfair’. He also went on write that even if people agree or disagree with her opinions, but they cannot take away the fact that she is one of the ‘best actors today’. Tehseen also called her a ‘risk taker’.

So, Richa Chadda took it upon herself to clarify that people are expressing their ‘dissent in whatever way they can’. Her tweet read, “Aligning with power is easy and has obvious rewards like tax exemptions, awards, special status, security-even literally the Legislature promoting a film! So do you not know that the reverse also holds true Tehseen?Ppl are expressing dissent in whatever way they can. So chill.”

Dhaakad received a theatrical release on May 20, 2022. It stars Arjun Rampal, Divya Dutta and Saswata Chatterjee in prominent roles apart from Kangana. It was touted as India’s first female-centric action film. The film is getting tough competition from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which was also released in theatres on the same day.
