Huma Qureshi Calls “Cat Fights” Misogynistic, Questions Why Men Don’t Have Such A Label. Can We Please Declaw Sexism Already?
It is a noted fact that whenever two actresses work together there are always rumours about them not getting along well. I remember hearing this about Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone in the movie Bajirao Mastani. Also, the popular term to phrase this is “cat fights”, however in recent times actors are now opening up more about this topic and well owning it. But they are also becoming frank about other aspects too of actors working together. In a recent interview, when Huma Qureshi was asked about “cat fights” in the industry, she did not deny this, however, had a better answer to talk about this situation in B-town.

Huma Qureshi who impressed everyone with her performance in Maharani 2 has always been very straightforward in her answers during an interview. She recently put forth her thoughts on the people talking about catfights in the industry and whether or not it is a rumour. Huma very clearly stated that catfights are not rumours but also elaborated saying it is a very misogynistic term to put this. Speaking her mind on this topic, Huma said that when men fight in the industry, nobody labels it as “dog fights”. She shed light on the same and said that it is not about genders, there are differences that can happen between people. In the interview with Times Of India, the Maharani actress also said that men compete more than women in the industry and this is very evident during their gym workouts too. Well, I believe even Akshay Kumar would agree with Huma Qureshi here because he too had spoken about any two male actors being uncomfortable working on the same projects.

So, I guess now we should not restrict our ideas of fights in the industry just to that of the actresses and sensationalise it every time.
