Indians are not good at accepting defeats!

On February 24, the semi-final match in the T20 World Cup did not turn out to be a favourable one for the Indian women’s cricket team. They lost to Australia by 5 wickets and also the chance to earn the World Cup title. But Twitter users believe that there was something fishy in the game and have come up with their theories of match-fixing. Among many moments from the game, one player who is being highly criticised for it is Harmanpreet Singh. The Twitter users are accusing her of not taking two runs which she easily could have done. They are claiming that the player deliberately cost the team a wicket.

@BCCI today match was unimaginable .At some point of time it was match fixing game (that captain run out was looking like ……) I don't think India women's are came to semifinals and finals for giving the win Australia team

@BCCI should investigate and take hard decision on the casual approach shown by @ImHarmanpreet while running between the wickets. She should be sacked if she is considered as a professional.#INDWvsAUSW

I think it's a match fixing. Right from the beginning India were sloppy in the field. @TheShafaliVerma s catch drop is a sample for it. Clearly @ImHarmanpreet was seeing the ball and gets slower in the running. Could've acted well @BCCIWomen #INDWvsAUSW #T20WomensWorldCup https://t.co/flY0wrKHnq

The users are also disappointed in the fact the player Harmanpreet Kaur did not show proper effort to at least try. The moment is being compared to that of MS Dhoni’s run out in the 2019 World Cup during the semi-finals.
There was a big difference between those runouts. Dhoni's was a pure masterclass for guptil but harmanpreet ran out herself because of her carelessness. She could have reached well in the crease if she wasn't looking at the ball

Energies were different..she was lucky gavaskar wasn't in commentary. Lazy running. Dropped the bat in an awkward angle on suddenly seeing the keeper get the ball. Dhoni was running at full tilt..

@ImHarmanpreet causual running cost us the match and probably the Cup, it hard but true. In #MSDs case it was an outstanding moment of fielding by Guptill. However we need strong power hitters in the team , makes all the difference on little bigger grounds

Well, this looks like the verdict given out by fans of cricket. However, there have been no confirmations or statements on it yet from the BCCI or any of the cricket players. But then there were some fans who tried to cheer up our Indian team’s spirits and have shown support for them. I guess that’s how divided and poles apart the fans in this country are.
