Mumbai Rape Case: Victim Expresses Disappointment, Says “Culprit Is Out On Interim Bail”

It’s pathetic to see how women’s safety in our country is still not getting enough attention. There are no strict laws to instil fear in the minds of culprits who commit such heinous crimes against girls and women. A few days back, a woman took the help of Instagram to narrate a horrific incident that happened to her in Mumbai. Through a handle, Punishmyrapist, the 21-year-old informed everyone about a boy named Heetik Shah who raped her after they met each other along with their mutual acquaintances. In the latest updates on the case, the woman revealed that the alleged culprit is still roaming free and has sought interim bail already.

The victim shared recent updates on the case and revealed a lot of shocking information which only sheds light on the weak justice system of the country. As per the latest post on the Punishmyrapist Instagram handle, the woman informed that her entire medical examination process to 11 days to get done. As per the post, her medical tests were delayed by 4 days. Reportedly, the police couldn’t find the alleged culprit for 9 days and he is already out on an interim bail. The victim further expressed her disappointment in the justice system and stated that the victim is still roaming free even after she has presented all the proofs required in the case. The girl expressed her helplessness in this case and how she is getting zero support from the system. Many people in the comment section came forward to extend their support and tagged the Mumbai Police in the post to garner their attention.

After such incidents, how is it possible for a woman to be confident about the fact that there are strong laws to protect them? Also, this is not the first time when such cases have dragged on for months and years to finally serve justice, so it’s not surprising. Nirbahaya got justice after 8 years, and nothing has changed even today!
