UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty has been making headlines ever since they landed in India for the G20 Summit. And this time the duo is in the news for their visit to Delhi’s Akshardham Temple on Sunday, Day 2 of the G20 Summit. The duo spent about 40 minutes at the temple to offer prayers and see every statue.

Pictures from UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Akshata Murty went to the Akshardham temple in Delhi on Sunday. As per media reports, the couple did the aarti and visited all the statues in the temple as well. An Akshardham Temple official told the media that the British Prime Minister also spoke to the saints in the temple. Pictures from their visit were shared by the temple on their Twitter account along with a caption that read that the temple authorities were honoured to welcome the UK PM and Akshata Murthy to celebrate the “shared cultural heritage” between the two countries.

For the unversed, in a media interaction on Friday, UK PM Rishi Sunak told the media that he will visit a temple during his stay in Delhi for the G20 Summit. Calling himself a “proud Hindu”, the British PM revealed that he celebrated Raksha Bandhan but was unable to celebrate Krishna Janmashthami.
