The under-19 women’s cricket team has made India proud on a global level by bringing the trophy of the inaugural T-20 World Cup home. The Indian cricket team played its winning match against England and beat the opponent by 7 wickets. And since it is such a momentous victory for the country, the team definitely deserves all the praise and appreciation. And a special felicitation ceremony has been announced by the BCCI to honour the players. Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar will do the honours of felicitating the players.

Indian women’s cricket team’s win was hailed by the country. From our President Droupadi Murmu to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, everyone praised the team for displaying such extraordinary performance on the field. On January 30, Monday, BCCI President Jay Shah took to his social media handle to announce the details of the felicitation ceremony. He took the pleasure in announcing that the young cricketers of India who made the country proud will be felicitated by the Padma Shree Awardee and of course the god of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar. Jay Shah also informed in this tweet that the ceremony will take place on February 1, at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad. Also, to let you know that this is currently the biggest stadium in India. The event will begin at 6:30 in the evening.

The BCCI president, Jay Shah, in another tweet invited the captain Shefali Verma and her team to this felicitation ceremony.

Earlier on the same day, the BCCI also posted a special video message from the under-19 men’s cricket team. The captain of the team congratulated the women’s team and they all cheered for them too! Many other cricketers like Smriti Mandhana, Rohit Sharma, Gautam Gambhir, and Yuvraj Singh among others congratulated the women’s team.
