In a video shared by the official Twitter handle of BCCI, Rahul Dravid congratulated the Indian U-19 women’s team. He said that this is a landmark day as the young women’s team won their first-ever world cup right in ith tournament’s first edition. He, then, passed on the mic to Prithvi Shaw to share a message for the team. He, too, congratulated the team on this ‘great achievement’. Shaw was the captain of the Indian U-19 men’s team who led them to victory at the T20 U-19 Men’s World Cup in 2018.

The U-19 team’s captain, Shafali Verma’s father also erupted into cheers as the team won. In a video that is currently doing rounds on social media, he was very calm and composed until the last ball was played, and the moment the team won, he stood up and high-fived the ones sitting around him.

Shafali Verma already had the Indian flag wrapped around her shoulders even before the last ball was played. She also got teary-eyed when she was called in for a post-match interview on the ground. Verma was all praise for her ‘beautiful’ team, and also thanked BCCI and the staff for supporting them throughout.
