In a recent turn of events, a 21-year-old Nagpur college student has been arrested after s*xually assaulting his 26-year-old stepmother. Locals around them shared their anger on the same, while the police continue to examine what happened.
Nagpur Student S*xually Assaults Stepmother
As per the police complaint, the victim met Akshat Srivastava’s father, Vikas, 55, during her search for a job in 2024. Vikas was working as a manager at a private bank and developed feelings for her, who eventually became his wife. But Akshat didn’t approve of this relationship of his father with a younger woman, creating a dispute in their family. Reportedly, clashes in their home became a permanent problem, resulting in the victim being constantly harassed.
The woman alleged that Akshat came into her room on April 10 and then went on to s*xually assault her. He warned her that he would kill her if she told anyone about this. She went on to tell her husband about the alleged assault but requested protection. She stated that Vikas asked her to be quiet to save the family’s honour and his son’s education. It further stated that the woman complained about harassment in the home to the authorities in the past.
She eventually came forward and made a complaint, and it is also reported that the police were under pressure not to do so. But upon her statement, a case was registered, and the police were able to take evidence and statements and arrest the man a few days later. More investigation is going on, including medical statements and evidence checks. This case further makes our case about how men often dominate women for their own agendas. Rather than settling the dispute with his father, who was the one responsible for bringing the woman into his life, he blamed his stepmother.
