In many, if not all, nations, women continue to battle for their fundamental rights. These days, reports of discrimination and violence against this gender are widespread and, if anything, have only increased. Many world leaders have spoken on this issue and assured women of a world without such injustices. Recently, at an event, Jill Biden, USA’s first lady addresses the issues faced by women and appealed to men to contribute to making the world free of such discrimination. The first lady was speaking at an event organised to celebrate Women’s History Month.

Jill Biden, USA first lady and President Joe Biden’s wife, spoke her heart out during the recent event for Women’s History Month. She condemned the harsh reality that women still have to go through when it comes to their fundamental rights and equality. She expressed her disbelief in the fact that the battle that should have been long won is still a reality for the women. However, she further went and made an appeal to all the men. As per the news, Jill Biden asked men to acknowledge mistakes and hold one another accountable for it whenever a woman is subjected to any kind of violence or injustice. She firmly stated that the women’s fight against inequality should have already ended. The first lady also made these statements in view of the US Supreme Court ruling out the Roe Vs Wade judgement and taking away the women’s right to abortion.

Well, indeed this fight for women should have ended a long time back, however, the recent cases and incidents have proved that we still have a long way to go. We can only imagine how tough the path is if the right to abortion has been taken away from women in a country like the USA.
