Jacinda Ardern became the country’s Prime Minister in 2017. She represented the Labour Party and proved herself to be one of the most capable and deserving people for this job. However, after the recent announcement of resignation by Jacinda Ardern, it is quite evident that these 6 years of office have been very challenging for her, more than what the citizens could imagine. In the press conference, Jacinda Ardern with teary eyes said that her last day as a PM would be February 7, and she will not stand for the upcoming elections. She also said that there is not enough in her tank anymore, and she believes that one should not when to leave. Jacinda Ardern acknowledges that there will be many discussions about why she is leaving office abruptly. In her speech, she also said that her decision did not come in light of the heavy responsibilities of this job but rather the fact that somebody else could do it better.

Jacinda Ardern as a leader that was always adored by New Zealand. The way she handled the Covid-19 crisis in her country was, well, hailed by the world. As a woman Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern set some unconventional examples. She was the first woman leader to bring her child to the United Nations General Assembly meeting. Jacinda Ardern introduced many revolutionary schemes like the country’s first Well-Being budget. She has always been a very cool PM and it is certainly a big void for the country to fill.
