New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardern’s Daughter Interrupts Her During A Livestream And It’s All Sorts Of Adorable

I’ve seen a lot of viral work from home videos in the lockdown, and I have to say some of my favourite ones have some or the other family member interrupting a live video session. I mean, you remember the one where a reporter’s video was interrupted by her shirtless father? Hilarious! And the one where a New Zealand minister’s TV interview was interrupted by her son holding a deformed carrot in his hand that looked like something NSFW? Kids, I tell you. Ther viral work from home video I’m talking about today is not that different. This time, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was interrupted by her daughter during a livestream in which she was talking about the new public health restrictions and government schemes to fight Covid-19.

New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardern was unexpectedly interrupted during a livestream by her 3-year-old daughter, Neve, who was up past her bedtime. Ardern was giving updates regarding the decision made by the country’s administration to fight the Covid-19 pandemic when her daughter interrupted her.

In the livestream video where Jacinda Ardern was addressing the citizens of New Zealand, a faint voice of Neve could be heard in the background where she was calling out for her mother. The conversation that took place between the mother and daughter after that was nothing less than adorable, in my opinion.

Ardern asked her daughter to go back to bed when Neve stubbornly refused. Ardern then said, “It’s bedtime darling – pop back to bed and I’ll come and see you in a second.” She later went on to apologize to the viewers for this unexpected situation.

Jacinda Ardern handled the situation exceptionally well when she started addressing the citizens of New Zealand by stating, “That was a bedtime fail, wasn’t it? Does anyone else have kids escape like three, four times after bedtime?” And later continued giving them the updates. But according to reports, that was not the end of it. Her daughter again interrupted the livestream asking her mother what was taking so long. Left with very little, the Prime Minister ended the livestream by apologizing to them for the situation and thanking the viewers for joining in.

I know what the New Zealand Prime Minister was saying was of utmost importance. But I, for one, couldn’t get over the innocence of the 3-year-old. Work from home can be chaotic – especially if you’re a woman with kids. So, during these times when there are very few factors in our control, being considerate is the best way to go about it.
