In recent events, the chilling r*pe and murder of a senior Delhi IRS Officer has raised concerns all over the nation. Teenager Rahul Meena, the accused, knew his way around the house and the family’s routine, and used this to execute his plan. He had already r*ped his friend’s wife in Rajasthan’s Alwar a day before, sold a phone for Rs 10,000, hired a cab to Delhi for 6,000 and went to his former employee, the senior IRS officer’s house in South Delhi. 1. His Arrival In Delhi
Rahul Meena knew about the family’s routine of going to the gym early in the morning and leaving their daughter alone. For the unversed, the 19-year-old boy had previously worked as a domestic help for eight months before he was fired. He knew the house key would be in a shoe rack for the other staff, and took it. The CCTV showed him entering the college at 6:30 AM and going to her study room.
2. How Rahul Meena Killed The IRS Officer’s Daughter
The 22-year-old victim was preparing for the UPSC exam when he stepped into her room and said that her mother had called him for some work. He then proceeded to demand money, and when she refused, he got violent and struck her with a lamp, resulting in injuries to her face and body, and later strangled her with a phone charging cable. He further r*ped her.
3. He Was Looking For Money
Meena was infamous for borrowing money from staff in the neighbourhood to feed his gaming addiction. He tried robbing the house, but the locker in the house could only be opened through thumbprints. He dragged the 22-year-old’s body down to the locker room and pressed her blood-stained finger against the biometric scanner, but it failed. As per the police, she had died by then, which may be why it did not recognise her.
4. His Exit Plan
He left her body to open the door with a screwdriver, took out cash and jewellery and packed them. Before leaving, he carefully removed his blood-stained clothes and changed to her brother’s trousers, replaced his shoes with a pair of slippers in the house, and left.
5. How He Got Arrested
During his walk to the Palam railway station, Meena pretended to be on a call to avoid drawing attention. He was later arrested from a hotel in Delhi’s Dwarka area, where he had been hiding. He is currently being charged with r*pe, murder, and robbery, as per the police.
