Nitu Ghanghas’ exceptional performance in the finals against Lutsaikhan Altantsetseg of Mongolia was a display of pure class. The 22-year-old athlete from Bhiwani demonstrated her attacking prowess with a quick flurry of punches from close range, leaving her opponent struggling to keep up. Nitu’s agile movement and unwavering determination allowed her to dominate the fight, securing an impressive 5-0 scoreline and her first-ever World Championships medal. Her remarkable combination of relentless attack and resolute defence sealed the win by unanimous decision, leaving the spectators awestruck.

Saweety Boora’s journey to victory was no less dramatic. The three-time Asian medallist had to grind hard for her victory in a nail-biting contest against Wang Lina of China. In a closely contested bout, Saweety had to rely on her immense skill and unwavering determination to secure a 4-3 win on points after the bout was reviewed. This well-deserved victory earned her a second Worlds medal and cemented her place as one of India’s top boxers.
