Gulshan Devaiah Urges Govt To Improve Infrastructure After 22 YO Woman Dies In Flooded Underpass In Bengaluru
He called the underpass "death well"!

Bengaluru is infamous for its infrastructure that leads to flooding of subways and underpasses during the rains and leads to accidents and deaths. On Sunday, a 22-year-old woman died after she got stuck in a multi-purpose vehicle with her five relatives at a flooded underpass in Bengaluru’s KR Circle. While the woman died, her relatives were rescued from the vehicle. Reacting to the news report, Dahaad actor Gulshan Devaiah called the flooded underpasses in Bengaluru “death wells” and appealed to the government to look into the matter for the safety of the common people.

Sharing the tweet, Dahaad actor Gulshan Devaiah highlighted that the “death wells of Bengaluru” have been around for a long time, are extremely dangerous during the monsoon season, and look “ugly” during the other time. He went on to point out that the concerned politicians will use the issue to blame each other but at the end of the day, it’s the common people who suffer due to the matter. The actor further pointed out that the common people pay for the same and sometimes they pay the price with their lives. He took the opportunity to appeal to the government to resolve the issue for the safety of the people.

The incident shared by the actor took place on May 21, Sunday. A media outlet shared the news on Twitter with a picture of the site of the incident revealing that one multi-purpose vehicle and two auto-rickshaws got stuck in the KR Circle subway which was flooded due to the rains in the city.

As per media reports, the woman who died was a software engineer. The family got stuck in neck-deep water at the KR Circle subway after the car driver tried to zoom out of there despite the subway being closed and barricaded due to water stagnation. As the driver tried to go past, the car got submerged in the water. As the family cried for help, people in the area threw sarees and ropes to help them but the ones trapped in the car tried to climb out and failed. The emergency rescue services managed to drag out 2 passengers and the others were brought out of the entrapped vehicle using a ladder.
